We support children with cancer so that they do not interrupt their treatments due to lack of transportation from their communities to the hospital in the city of Coatzacoalcos Ver., Mexico, which are from 1 hour to 9 hours away, they in their majority come rural localities. If these patients did not receive the free service they could not by their own means arrive at the hospital, for their (weekly) treatments of chemotherapy or hospitalization, since they are mostly economically disadvantaged
These patients mostly live in about 40 rural (marginalized) localities, in addition their parents have other children and do not have the economic resources so that they can go weekly to receive their treatment of chemotherapy or hospitalization to hospital of medical specialties, several hours away. Either they eat or they travel...definitely before Manos Unidas por Coatzacoalcos AC they could not even dream about receiving treatment.
Manos Unidas by Coatzacoalcos A.C. Has two mobile units for transport to them but it costs to us to keep this service on a daily basis because for us it has a driver's cost, vehicle insurance, annual taxes, half-yearly dues, social insurance, gasoline, toll roads, wet towels, water bottle, cleaning services, maintenance services in agency, and other like (maintenance as tires change, shock absorber) etc.
To ensure that as many beneficiaries as possible have access to the full scheme of treatment. These children or new diagnosed cases will not leave their treatments for lack of transportation while Manos Unidas by Coatzacoalcos AC can continue providing to them.
