Our Pink Camper travel plan for 2023 is now ready!
We'll be on the road from May to September, visiting five cities spread across the country to meet and support women living with breast cancer on the ground. During the meetings we will provide psychological, emotional, practical and informational support to newly diagnosed women who are currently undergoing treatment, as well as to women with metastatic disease.
In the coming week, we start organizing the trips and planning with the municipalities that will be our hosts for the events. The first stop of the Pink camper and the program“Soul Sisters” will be in the city of Vidin.
Your help is extremely important for the One in 8 Foundation, thanks to which we are able to reach more women throughout Bulgaria.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
In 2022 the "Soul Sisters" program went around the country for the 6th consecutive year to support women diagnosed with breast cancer and their loved ones thanks to your constant support.
In June, „Soul Sisters” were in Yambol and Stara Zagora, in July - in Burgas, in August - in Karlovo. In September and October, we were invited and visited the Complex Oncology Center – Ruse in Ruse, Uni Hospital in Panagyurishte and Nadezdha Woman’s Health Hospital in Sofia.
Our survivors and psychologists met with 137 women with the diagnose. During the meeting we talked about all aspects of life with breast cancer, showed videos with important information for patients from leading experts in the field of oncology, gynecology and kinesitherapy.
The patients received practical advice, asked their questions to the survivors and psychologists of One in 8, as well as received free of charge informational brochures, turbans, wigs, specialized post-mastectomy bras and post-mastectomy primary prothesis.

I would like to thank all of you again for your continued support for the „Soul sisters” program.
Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the imposed epidemic emergency situation in Bulgaria, we were not able to carry out the planned for the end of 2021 visits to the oncology wards of major hospitals in Sofia.
To date, the pandemic situation in the country still does not allow us to start traveling with the Pink Camper, but that does not stop us from planning. Taking into account the past two years, we have prepared the “Soul sisters”2022 plan with travel in May-September, when we expect the measures to be loosed.
We plan to visit 5 cities in the country during the year to provide psychological, emotional, practical and informational support to newly diagnosed women with breast cancer who are currently undergoing treatment, as well as to women with metastatic disease.
In addition, our team uses the time we do not have the opportunity to travel to enrich the program to be even more useful to patients from small towns where there is a lack of access to psychological, emotional, practical and informational support.

Dear „Free services to cancer patients in Bulgaria“ Donors,
“Soul Sisters” program helps diagnosed women to make them feel both supported and informed about the diagnosis through free of charge practical, informational and psychological counseling. Face-to-face conversation with our breast cancer survivors helps patients to cope with all the changes resulting from the diagnosis however especially in the countryside such services are not available.
Although the 2021 was also marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, during the summer months the "Soul Sisters" program managed to visit 3 oncology hospitals / oncology wards in the country. The pink camper of “One in 8” visited the hospitals in Haskovo, Vratsa and Blagoevgrad.
Our team of counselors, as well as our psychologist – all of them breast cancer survivors, met and talked with more than 114 patients - women in active treatment in the respective hospitals and those from the city who are in remission, maintenance treatment or metastatic disease.
In addition to the psychological, emotional and practical support during the three trips, we also distributed 342 turbans/ headscarf for women on chemotherapy, 83 primary kits for women with mastectomy - “Pink Bag”, 57 wigs for women on chemotherapy, 113 post-mastectomy bras as well as over 1100 information brochures.
By the end of the year, “One in 8” will visit with the "Soul Sisters" program an oncology ward of a large hospital in Sofia to meet with their patients on active treatment.
Together with all of you, “One in 8” Foundation supports and informs breast cancer patients to accept their condition, rebuild their well-being and improve their quality of life.
