During the financial year 2016-2017 so far (1st April 2015 to 31st, July 2016) Agewell volunteers have surveyed more than 35 slums across Delhi/NCR and distributed 385 Wheelchairs to destitute elderly unable to move around, 615 Walkers to destitute elderly unable to walk on his/her own, 12800+ Adult Diapers to bedridden and ailing destitute elderly, 180 Walking Sticks to needy old people and 465 Food Ration packets (containing Rice, Dals, Masale, Oil, Tea, Sugar, Salt, biscuits, etc @ Rs. 1250 each) among destitute and needy elderly.
In addition, through our Helplines spread across the country to assist old people we have managed to extend a helping hand to over 10 lac old people. Through our Employment Exchange for Old People we have managed to assist over 130 old people. We have just completed a nation-wide study among 15000 old people on "Financial Status of Older People in India: An Assessment". The same would be released soon.
Agewell Foundation is committed to provide for older people particularly destitute and needy. Currently, Agewell Foundation's old age healthcare project is being supported by local contributors, corporate sector and volunteers.
Agewell Foundation needs more financial support from corporate sector and individuals so that it can provide timely help to needy and destitute elderly.
