During the financial year 2015-2016 (1st April 2015 to 31st, March 2015) Agewell Foundation distributed 95 wheelchairs and 500 walkers to destitute elderly living in slums of Delhi & NCR (national capital territory) through its local volunteers under this project. All these beneficiaries were facing acute mobility problems before getting equipment as their families could not afford this equipment for them due to their poor financial status. Healthcare equipment, particularly wheelchairs transformed their life to some extent. It has also provided Adult Diapers to bedridden/elderly patients on a regular basis during the past year. During this period over 30 such destitute elderly have availed the benefit of Agewell initiative. Beneficiaries are identified and selected by Agewell volunteers for the project. They found these elderly living in merciless situations due to poverty and neglect by their family members and society. Regular supply of Adult diapers helped these elderly and their family members a lot in maintaining cleanliness around them.
Agewell Foundation is committed to provide for older people particularly destitute and needy. Currently, Agewell Foundation's old age healthcare project is being supported by local contributors and volunteers.
Agewell Foundation needs financial support from corporate sector and individuals so that it can provide time help to needy and destitute elderly.
