Waiting for the income to invest in the future of work for our young people
By Ileana Leyba | Project Leader, Exec. Dir. Junior Achievement Vzla
A year has almost finished with the biggest hope of reaching a greater population of youngsters for them to receive our newly created on line contents. However, these times have been harder for our purpopses, considering of the total youngsters we were planning to reach this year only 10% of the beneficiaries count on intelligent tools or internet infrastructure available to acess our financial education programs.
Nonetheless, we still maintain our expectations of receiving the funds donated by people who believe in these young candidates, who have bet to their success. Sanctions imposed by the local government have impeded to send these. Meanwhile we have developed new contents and for sure we will be able to accomplish an interesting portion of our initial goal once such funds are received to be invested in the programs we will deliver. As school scheduled time for our classes have not already been provided due to continuous cancellations, postpositions and closures -just to name some interventions within the education calendar- we are prone to believe that once lists have been filtered by those who can attend and those who won't be able to do it, January will the month to reinitiate our classes continuing to complete the project.
I want to thank you and everyone who have believed in our proposal for your patience and confidence demonstrated along these years. Young people continue to be our focus and although facing major obstacles and lack of tools we will satisfy expectations of completion as indicated since the beginning of this project.
We wish you all a gorgeous Christmas period. Peace and love for you, your families and acquaintances.. God be with you!

Waiting for new oppportunities
By Ileana Leyba de Villegas | Project Leader, Exec. Dir. Junior Achievement Vzla
Dear donors, is a pleasure to let you know that we have accomplished more than expected although we have not received any more donations since the beginning of 2020.
Times have been strong for all NGO's - included ours - along the pandemic period, while some measurements imposed by the local government have extremely affected the way we work preventing to directly reach our beneficiaries. However as our education programs have been converted to on-line ones in a variety of digital platforms, savings have provided the necessary funds to continue with our financial education classes until the first 2020 quarter, but are already finished so we cannot continue to operate while reaching students has come to be more difficult every day due to the worst internet services in the planet we count on in Venezuela. Not only our students and teachers at schools do not count on funds to buy a computer nor a smart phone, there also is a lack of internet structure in most of the low income areas. Students have been forced to using their parents equipments to afford the available contents. For this to be possible we have not only converted some of these to What's App contents but also have prepared teachers on these for them to support the project implementing classes with these valuable knowledge. BNonetheless, at the end, financial support is needed to continue the job and administrative operation.
Times are not going to change by the moment, but we count on your generosity to continue our work. We are deeply thankful for the aid received until last year, but require of continuous support for implementation of more updated contents we count on. We are sure you will understand this fact and act upon to help us work.
Wishing you the best!

Working for the new on line cohort
By Ileana Leyba de Villegas | Project Leader. NGO Director
Although the quarantine period is being extended in our country after 13 months without reaching our target groups in person we have not stopped our program delivery to reach students working at home. For many non expected reasons the process has taken more time and efforts than we supposed it was going to. Although we now count with various programs covering the financial education and entrepreneurship contents included in this project only between 10 and 12% of our students count on an intelligent phone or laptop to receive these precious contents. The internet infrastructure in ouru country does not help to this. Is the weakest and less efficient IT structure before Nigeria all over the world.
For the sake of a better education for our young population, we urgently need to reach other groups of youngsters extending the benefit of these contents to more students so we have established additional alliances with a network of public or subsidied schools in order to reach new beneficiaries. We are ready to continue with programs implementation for other groups after the Holy week, to begin a new cohort during the third school quarter. This action would let us advance with other minorities extending the impact to distant areas of the country.
To accompllish this goal we are ready with the necessary volunteers prepared to continue our impact on these vulnerable youngsters providing results for our next report. Having counted on our benefactors continuous support with the previous cohorts on these regard allowed us to continue operating. Remaining active against all odds has not been an easy task, but we are proud of delivering results along 2020 and during this first quarter of 2021.
We sincerely present our enormeous gratitude to our benefactors for providing the necessary donations that allow us to operate with faith on our purpose along 2021.
