Celebrating 1,070 Free Eye Surgeries and the Teams

By Muhammad Imad Ud Din | Project Leader

Title: Celebrating 1,070 Free Eye Surgeries in Collaboration with Alkhidmat

Summary

PMC (Kuwait Teaching Hospital), in collaboration with Alkhidmat Foundation, celebrated the successful completion of 870 free cataract surgeries and 200 free corneal transplant surgeries. An Award Distribution Ceremony recognized the dedication and contributions of the people who made this milestone possible.

Story / Update

Access to eye surgery can be life-changing, but the cost of treatment can place it beyond the reach of people facing financial hardship. Through collaboration between PMC (Kuwait Teaching Hospital) and Alkhidmat Foundation, 1,070 free surgical procedures were completed, helping make essential eye care more accessible.

To mark this achievement, PMC (Kuwait Teaching Hospital) hosted an Award Distribution Ceremony to honor the teams and individuals behind this work. The ceremony acknowledged their commitment, coordination, and care in supporting patients requiring specialized eye treatment.

These procedures aim to improve vision and support patients’ ability to manage everyday activities. This shared achievement reflects the importance of partnerships in reaching people who might otherwise struggle to afford treatment.

Impact

• 870 free cataract surgeries completed.
• 200 free corneal transplant surgeries completed.
• 1,070 surgical procedures provided at no cost to patients through this collaboration.

Gratitude Note

Thank you to the medical teams at PMC (Kuwait Teaching Hospital), Alkhidmat Foundation, donors, staff, and supporters whose contributions made these surgeries possible.
