Through this grant, over 12,000 students across Germany's 16 federal states will have the opportunity to see HE NAMED ME MALALA at a local theater. By seeing the film with their classmates and exploring the corresponding film curriculum in their classrooms, they will be inspired to become change-makers in their communities and advocates for every girl's right to a quality secondary education.
Today, over 60 million girls around the world are out of school. The combinations of poverty, violence, and tradition inhibiting girls' education limits their individual potential and stifles progress for their local communities and the world as a whole.
This grant will empower 12,000 German students to stand #withMalala and her crusade for 12 years of safe, quality education for every girl. Each teacher who registers for tickets will be provided with a discussion guide that suggests ways to engage with their students after seeing the film, creating champions for the future of education equality in Germany.
The project will raise awareness about the importance of girls' education among children and youth in Germany.
