Research is an essential foundation of quality nursing education and healthcare. It enables nurses and healthcare professionals to move beyond established practices, examine real-world challenges, and develop solutions that can improve patient care and health outcomes.
On September 12, 2026, Foundation University participated in the professional development initiative “From Evidence to Impact: Designing Research that Transforms Nursing and Healthcare,” a four-hour nursing program focused on strengthening the connection between research evidence and actual healthcare practice.
The program emphasized the importance of designing meaningful and relevant research—research that does not remain within academic settings but can be translated into practical improvements in nursing care and healthcare delivery. Participants were encouraged to look at research as a tool for identifying problems, evaluating existing practices, developing evidence-based interventions, and contributing to better outcomes for patients and communities.
For nursing students and professionals, exposure to research methodology and evidence-based practice is particularly valuable. It strengthens critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to make informed clinical decisions. More importantly, it helps cultivate a culture where nurses become not only providers of care but also contributors to the generation and application of new knowledge.
The initiative supports Foundation University's continuing commitment to excellence in nursing education and to developing healthcare professionals who are equipped to respond to changing healthcare needs. By strengthening research capability, the University helps prepare nurses to identify local healthcare challenges and develop solutions that are relevant to the communities they serve.
The program also reinforces the connection between education, research, and service. Knowledge generated through research has greater value when it can be translated into action—improving clinical practices, strengthening healthcare systems, informing decision-making, and ultimately contributing to safer and more effective patient care.
Through initiatives such as this, Foundation University continues to invest in the professional growth of its nursing community and in the development of future healthcare leaders. The goal is not simply to produce more research, but to encourage research that matters—research that moves from evidence to action, and from action to meaningful impact.
