Foundation University College of Nursing launched the pilot edition of Miss FUCN held last August at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall.
Miss FUCN’s core purpose in organizing the pageant is to encourage the candidates in formulating a certain health advocacy which will benefit the whole student body of the University.
A senior student was crowned Miss FUCN 2019 with her advocacy – FUCN Fit and Run, which was aimed at holding physical activities to prevent, provide early treatment and manage certain lifestyle-related diseases among students, faculty and staff at Foundation University.
Meanwhile, a student nurse from the junior class was emerged as the 1st Runner Up with her advocacy, Educating Street and Homeless Children and another senior student nurse bagged the 2nd Runner Up with her advocacy, FUCN Clean and Green.
Engaging students into co-curricular activities makes them whole-rounded persons and this is one way of giving the students a break from the usual academics. Such activities will also enhance their interpersonal skills and encourage more actual interaction with people.
The skills acquired from the activities will help the future nurses to be more interactive and be more responsive to the work demands.
