1. Project Overview

This project aims to provide foundational education in English, Mathematics, and Science to marginalised girls in Telangana through NEIEA’s blended learning model. Live online mentor teachers deliver instruction via IT-enabled classrooms, supported by on-site coordinators who ensure attendance, engagement, and continuity of learning.

Since our last report to GlobalGiving, there has been no significant additional funding received through the GlobalGiving platform. Despite this constraint, NEIEA has continued to make incremental progress by optimising existing resources and sustaining learning for currently enrolled students.

2. Progress Since Last ReportContinuity of Existing Students

• The 40 girls reported in the previous update continue to be fully onboarded and are regularly attending classes.
• These students are receiving uninterrupted instruction in English, Math, and Science through our existing IT-enabled classroom.

New Enrolments

• In addition to the above, 25 new students have been onboarded since the last reporting period.

Ongoing Engagement

• Classes continue to be conducted regularly using the blended learning format.
• Mentor teachers and the local coordinator remain actively engaged in delivering lessons and supporting students’ learning needs.

3. Learning Progress & Outcomes

Despite funding constraints, NEIEA has continued to track student progress on a monthly basis for girls enrolled in the program.

Observed Learning Improvements

• Regular monthly assessments and class-based evaluations have been conducted in English, Mathematics, and Science.
• Over the past months, enrolled students have shown measurable improvement in foundational competencies, particularly in:
• Reading comprehension and basic writing in English
• Number recognition, basic operations, and problem-solving in Mathematics
• Conceptual understanding in introductory Science topics

Key Progress Metrics

• 70–75% of enrolled girls have demonstrated improvement of at least one learning level in foundational literacy and numeracy benchmarks.
• Average attendance remains above 80%, which has been a strong contributor to learning continuity and progress.
• Teachers have reported increased classroom participation and confidence, especially among girls who were previously hesitant to engage.

These outcomes reinforce the effectiveness of NEIEA’s blended learning model, even when implemented with limited resources.

4. Current Status & Constraints

• No significant new funds have been received through the GlobalGiving platform during this reporting period.
• Due to funding limitations, expansion to additional centres and larger student cohorts has been temporarily paused.
• NEIEA currently maintains a waiting list of girls and partner institutes that are keen to start classes under this program.

These centres and students are ready to be onboarded, and preparatory discussions have already taken place at the community level.

4. Readiness for Scale-Up

Once funding is received through GlobalGiving or any other donor platform, NEIEA is prepared to:

• Immediately activate additional learning centres.
• Onboard students who are currently on the waiting list.
• Scale instructional delivery using the same cost-effective and proven blended learning model.

The organisational systems, academic framework, and implementation teams are already in place to ensure rapid and responsible utilisation of funds.

5. Way Forward

• Sustain classes for currently enrolled students.
• Monitor attendance and learning continuity for both existing and newly onboarded girls.
• Initiate new centres and enrol additional students as soon as funds become available.

NEIEA remains committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not disrupt the education of girls who are already part of the program.

While no new funds were received during this period, we deeply value the opportunity to remain connected with GlobalGiving and look forward to scaling this initiative with continued donor support. With additional funding, we are confident of accelerating progress towards our goal of educating 1,000 marginalised girls in Telangana.
