12,000 years ago humans started farming. Today, nearly half the world's forests have disappeared, we have loosed millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, and we are facing a devastating climate crisis. Saving the planet demands that we alter our behavior, lower our dependence on fossil fuels, and cut carbon emissions. One of the most efficient and cost-effective ways of doing this is by restoring forests, particularly in tropical areas. Our goal is to plant 1,000,000 trees - please join us!
Degraded tropical forests are ground zero for the problem and also for the solution. Wholesale deforestation has led to degraded soils, loss of biodiversity, and severe stress on water resources. Tropical forests, the "lungs of the world" are at the tipping point, and wildly erratic weather patterns affect everyone, everywhere. No trees, no water. No water, no life. Floods, wildfires, global pandemics, none of us is exempt, and we're all in this together. It's time to act.
Determined to restore the forest, our local community is planting thousands of trees to protect springs and link forest fragments. Growing forests store carbon, shelter biodiversity, and help regulate the climate. As forests are restored, we'll increase the fertility of our soils, provide fresh water and clean air, and help to make the world a cleaner, healthier place for everyone, everywhere. We need all hands on deck so please join us. We are stronger together!
The climate crisis won't wait, but it's not too late to turn it around - if we act now. The long-term impact is nothing less than the difference between a healthy planet and one that is dying. If we all reduce our carbon footprint, live more sustainably, and take positive action to protect and restore the planet, we can still do it. Lead by example. Join a community clean up. Plant a tree. If you can't, we'll plant one for you. Our survival and the health of our planet depend on it. Thank you!
