Recently, we had the joy of welcoming to Iracambi, located in the heart of Minas Gerais, an extraordinary volunteer whose passion for birds has taken her to the most remote corners of the planet. Her love for birds knows no bounds, and her journey to us was driven by the desire to not only contribute to our tree-planting efforts but also to delve into discovering the rich fauna that our region hosts, especially the birds.

During her stay, she actively participated in our planting projects, making a significant contribution to the restoration of degraded areas. But it was in her free time, binoculars in hand and a bird guide in her pocket, that she truly found her purpose. Walking the recovered trails of Iracambi, she observed, cataloged, and marveled at the diversity of bird species that are beginning to return to the area thanks to our joint restoration efforts.

This volunteer reminded us of a fundamental truth: forest restoration is not just about planting trees. It's about reconnecting, about bringing back the biodiversity that once thrived in these soils. It's a reminder that each tree planted is a potential home, a source of food, a piece of an ecosystem that sustains the life of countless species.
