Project; For 15 3000 families to get out of poverty (49762)
Kigezi Healthcare Foundation (KIHEFO) is implementing this project to raise 3000 families from poverty through rabbit rearing. For the past 3 months, we have done some trainings on Rabbit rearing, technical support on rabbit cage construction but also conducted rabbit distribution to some starter families. 23 families have been educated and trained on rabbit rearing between January and March 2021. The targeted individual families and households include families headed by poor and abandoned single mothers, poor families with malnutrition cases and the poor with shanty shelter. Our next phase shall be targeting the unemployed youths from poor families and the elderly poor who has the capacity to get feeds for these rabbits. 11 trained households received rabbits and 12 are still learning and making preparations to receive their stock of rabbits. Among the beneficiary households were 9 women who are single mothers and 14 youths living below poverty level.
The target for the next three months will be, reaching out to 25 more households. 13 households will receive rabbits by the end of the next reporting period April-June 2021 and at least 12 households awaiting to receive rabbits.
