We have put in place a comprehensive plan to build an interest for fish farming in children with a simple objective to educate and inspire children to develop an interest in fish farming, promote sustainable aquaculture practices and encouraging future careers in the industry.
With our ongoing partnership with the Limbe Botanical Gardens we have intergrated this as part of the curricula and activities of our newly established Green Guardians; Children Conservation Club. Our sessions include
1. Interactive Workshops: organized hands-on workshops in schools or community centers, where children learn about fish biology, aquaculture, and sustainable fishing practices.
2. Fish Farm Visits: Arranged field trips to local fish farms, allowing children to observe and participate in fish farming activities.
3. Fish-themed Games and Activities: Develop educational games, quizzes, and puzzles that teach children about fish farming and aquaculture.
4. Storytelling and Videos: Shared engaging stories and videos about fish farming, highlighting the benefits and challenges of the industry.
5. Mentorship Program: Pair children with experienced fish farmers or aquaculture experts, who can provide guidance and support.
