Serve Through Wind and Rain

Food Angel's commitment to delivering food and care to remote areas never wavers, regardless of the weather conditions.
Recently, during a visit to Tsz Tong Tsuen in Yuen Long, our "Meals on Wheels" team faced the challenge of unpredictable showers. Understanding the importance of providing our service users with choice and dignity, we swiftly adapted our approach by relocating our “Self-Serve Station” indoors. This allowed our service users to safely select their meals while being sheltered from inclement weather.
However, our mission cannot continue without the kindness of donors like you.
Every contribution, no matter the size, directly impacts the lives of those we serve, helping us provide essential food assistance that respects the dignity of every individual. Together, we can let lives be enriched through giving and receiving. Your support will help us reach more underserved areas, bringing hope and care to those who need it most through loving meals.

A pair of cold hands

Food Angel never imagined that a simple meal collection and a brief interaction could bring such a significant blessing to Granny Ho's life.
Despite receiving the CSSA, Granny Ho struggles to make ends meet due to the extra expenses for medication and treatments. Food Angel aims to ease her burden through the free meal services via the Self-serve Food Hub, providing her with one less worry and a bit more warmth and peace of mind.
During a visit, our social worker noticed that Granny Ho's hands were unusually cold. It turned out she hadn't purchased any clothing in over a decade and was severely lacking warm clothing and supplies. Granny Ho lives very frugally, relying on a single blanket in her home, which was donated by a kind-hearted individual. Whenever there's a cold wave, she stays indoors and depends on her blanket for warmth.
Upon learning about her situation, we promptly arranged to purchase warm clothing, a down jacket, and a heater for her. Now, every time Granny Ho visits our Self-serve station, she happily shares how "toasty warm" she feels!
Food Angel believes that everyone deserves to be loved. Every meal we provide is not just about filling stomachs but also being the starting point for a greater blessing.

Canstruction HK Gala Luncheon

The CanstructionHK Exhibition and Carnival successfully concluded in Nov 2024!
To express our gratitude to our generous supporters, we hosted a gala luncheon last month at Bistro1979 for our supporting organizations and invited our elderly friends to enjoy a delicious meal together. This event featured a professional team from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management, including students who are the future leaders in the F&B and hotel industries, who participated in the menu design. They thoughtfully crafted 6 courses using over 20 types of canned food ingredients, embodying the spirit of Canstruction’s "#OneCanMakeADifference", and delivering love and care to those in need in our society. Our elderly friends, who seldom have the opportunity to taste exquisite Western cuisine, were very pleased with the meal.
In addition to enjoying the luncheon, we were honored to have Ms. Luanne Lim, CEO of HSBC Hong Kong, present awards for the "Canstruction Hong Kong Junior Inter-school Competition". Among the winners, Saint Antonius Girls' College received the award for “Top Fundraiser” while Laichikok Catholic Primary School won both “People’s Choice” and “Top Cans Collector” We extend our heartfelt thanks to the teachers, students and parents for their enthusiastic support, as well as citizens who contributed to nearly 100,000 votes!
