Summary

For more than nine years, the charity fund Let's Help has taken care of lonely needy elderly people. Among them there are many who cannot move independently and need assistance. Every month, we deliver food, medicine, personal hygiene items to them, buy wheelchairs and other necessary things. Our volunteers and social workers of the institutions where they stay help them in their everyday life. We need to keep working on the problem and act quickly to save these people's lives.

Challenge

Now thousands of lonely old women are left almost alone with themselves and without the necessary help. Food, drinking water, hygiene products, household goods and many other things for these people are now not available in all places, but where they are, the cost of goods has increased by 30-40%, while pension payments have not increased and in regions where hostilities were generally delayed for 2-3 months! Single pensioners are left alone on the edge of survival.

Solution

We purchase and deliver food, medicine, hygiene products, household chemicals, wheelchairs, canes and other medical equipment, other things needed by single, low-income old women. We also help institutions where elderly people live to prepare for "winter": we buy food for several months, hygiene products, diesel generators, solid fuel boilers, firewood and other necessary things that will help survive difficult times. We also spend money on fuel and car repairs of our regular volunteers.

Long-Term Impact

The project to help lonely elderly people has been operating for six years. During this time, we have helped tens of thousands of lonely elderly. During the war, they need more attention and funding: They have nothing to eat every day, they choose what to spend the minimum pessia on every day. Funding for permanent residence facilities for needy old women has been reduced to a minimum. We cannot leave these people to fend for themselves and will continue to take care of those who cannot do it.
