This project aims to help over 500 of the most vulnerable affected by the recent epidemic of COVID19 in Bulgaria, such as the elderly citizens and single mothers, by packing 11 staple food items (oil, flower, pasta, canned beans, sweetcorn and peas, ready soups, tomato puree, sugar, rice and lentils) and toiletries (toothpaste, shampoo, soap, dish soap and toilet-paper) to be delivered to them in a box because the quarantines prevent many from going to work, so we want to help in any way we can.
The low wages of the working class, and low pensions of the elderly in Bulgaria, prevent its citizens from having savings to help them in critical situations such as the COVID19 epidemic, so that they are now forced under quarantine where they are unable to work and therefore unable to provide for their families.
During the 1 months period where they are obligated to remain at home, we plan to deliver boxes of basic goods to their doorstep to relieve them of the fear of starvation in these desperate times.
This is a short term project targeted towards those in Bulgaria who lost their jobs amid the outbreak of the coronavirus as they are unable to continue supporting their families financially while the virus continues to peak, so with our help, we hopefully can lighten the burden on their shoulders till the epidemic passes.
