Youth Leading Change: 1,000 Futures Empowered in Addis Ababa

This March marked a transformative milestone for the Caleb Foundation, driven by the visionary leadership of young change-makers. We are proud to share that through a powerful collaboration with Blooming Abeba and Diaspora Advocates, we have equipped 1,000 adolescent girls across six schools in Addis Ababa with reusable dignity kits.

Impact & Sustainability

These kits are more than supplies; they are keys to a future without barriers.

• Two-Year Protection: Each kit provides enough protection to serve a girl for two full years, ensuring her education is never interrupted.

• Educational Focus: For these young women, this marks the end of missed exams and the beginning of a focused academic journey.

• Voices of Joy: One student shared, "Before, I would miss tests during my period. Now, I can stay in class and focus entirely on my learning!".

A Legacy of Leadership

This entire campaign was sparked by youth born and raised in the United States who identified a profound need and took action. Through our Kids4Kids program, we celebrate these young leaders and invite others worldwide to participate in projects that uplift their peers.

Protecting Our Children

In a vital partnership with the Ministry of Health, we reached a major milestone this month: every child at Caleb Day Care received their polio vaccinations. This national campaign, combined with our year-round health coverage, builds a foundation of wellness that allows our families to dream of a future without the fear of preventable illness.

Empowering Mothers and Families

At the heart of our daily work is a commitment to breaking the cycle of poverty through holistic support:

• Holistic Daycare: We currently care for 120 children from Monday to Saturday, providing them with nutritious food, medical coverage, and quality early education.

• Maternal Independence: While the children are safe with us, their mothers are empowered to go to work.

• Economic Growth: Through our Income Generating Activities (IGA) program, we provide mothers with business training and "seed equipment" to help them launch small businesses and become self-reliant.
