Summary

The Holiday season is the time to give, share and be hopeful. The Food Bank of Bogota has taken a great challenge: to deliver 50,000 food baskets to those in need, those who had suffered the anguish of hunger and who struggle every day to obtain food to continue living. More than ever, we need to celebrate life. Help us to bring joy and wellness to thousands that leave in extreme poverty. Our goal is that in Colombia food becomes a right, not a privilege! We are not recipients of public funds.

Challenge

Our country goes through a battle that unites the invisible, the vulnerable, and the defenseless. It is the same one whose silence gathers the anguish of those who live it and the indifference of those who ignore it. This year we want t make a difference in Colombia; where more than 12 million suffer from food insecurity; 54.2% of the households suffer from chronic malnutrition, 7 out of 100,000 children die from hunger, and less than half of the population can have access to three meals a day.

Solution

Through our network of social organizations and in alliance with civil society, the academic sector, and our volunteers, we will deliver 50000 food baskets during the holiday season. Our processes allow us to guarantee the traceability of each basket provided. Bringing hope and food to those who lack it will help them find the courage to move forward. Our baskets will support thousands of families that had suffered the economic and health consequences of the COVID pandemic. Let's make it happen.

Long-Term Impact

For twenty years, we have set an example of responsibility and exceeded all expectations during the pandemic year and pledged to continue to do so. We concluded the previous year with the best results in our history and more efficient and transparent processes, adapting to the COVID pandemic's needs.
