Since October 2023, thousands of Palestinian families have moved Gaza and hundreds of them resettled in Turkey, arriving with no more than what they could carry. Many face high living costs, language barriers, and limited access to stable income. This project provides displaced Gazan families in Turkey with a contribution to help cover urgent food needs, offering immediate relief while preserving their dignity and ability to choose what their household needs most.
Since October 7, 2023, large numbers of Palestinians had to have moved Gaza and relocated to Turkey, often arriving without savings, employment, or support networks. Displacement, combined with Turkiye's rising cost of living, has left many families unable to consistently afford basic groceries. Without local family ties or steady income, these households face daily uncertainty about how they will feed themselves, putting children and vulnerable family members especially at risk.
This project identify displaced Gazan families in Turkey through direct outreach, then provide each verified family with grocery card support contribution. Cash assistance allows families to purchase the specific food items their household needs, respects their autonomy, and supports local markets. The straightforward, transparent model ensures aid reaches families quickly and is used flexibly to meet each family's most pressing food security needs.
Beyond immediate relief, this assistance helps stabilize displaced families during a critical adjustment period, reducing the risk of debt, malnutrition, and crisis-driven decisions. By easing food insecurity, families can devote more energy toward rebuilding their lives, finding work, enrolling children in school, and integrating into their new community, creating a stronger foundation for long-term recovery and self-sufficiency.
