Challenge

Since June 2014, the population of the Iraqi city of Mosul su from the occupation of the so-called Islamic State (IS). The re-conquest of the city by the Iraqi and Kurdish military started in October 2016. Up to one million internally displaced persons are expected. In order to provide the displaced with the best possible care, the camps and areas are allocated to relief organizations. We urgently need your help to provide refugees.

Solution

The Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe is prepared with its partner organization REACH, in order to supply incoming displaced persons directly. We plan. Aid packages to 4,690 displaced families. Each family is supplied with food which is sufficient for four weeks, also utensils that they need to prepare meals. This includes a kitchen set, a cooker, a water canister, six plastic cups as well as four blankets and four pillows.

Long-Term Impact

Our emergency aid helps to ensure standards of humanitarian aid in the region around Mossul.
