EFB launched this campaign to emphasise that food is an essential source of both warmth and safety during winter. The campaign will be promoting two feeding programs: Monthly Feeding and School Feeding in addition to the Hot Meals initiative (distributing 5 million hot meals in all govern orates around Egypt)
Cold weather has a negative effect on our energy and productivity levels, we even tend to eat more during winter to feel more warm and more energetic. As for the less fortunate, their suffering is doubled as a result of health deterioration, malnutrition and insecurity. All of this is due to the lack of resources and the poor economic situation, which results in them giving up some of their priorities in exchange for others, or choosing between them. One of those priorities is food .
given the crisis and current conditions (COVID-19) that may stand against the needy in providing one of the most important basics of life, the Egyptian Food Bank decided to start distributing 5 million meals to those in need of support from (the elderly - Expat students - Single mothers - Families of poor patients - people of determination and special capabilities - Day Labors) around Egypt in a span of 2 months.
