The gangway in Ceva is back, one year after Storm Alex severely damaged it.
Made of iron and wood and already rebuilt from Specchio dei tempi after the devastating flood in 1994, the bridge linking the two sides of the historic town of Ceva has been reinstallated. Finally, in September the renovation works brought to the complete substitution of wooden planks used by pedestrians on the iron structure of the gangway.
The last step, painting the structure itself, has been postponed to 2022. As mayor Enzo Bezzone explained, other emergencies and primary interventions on roads and safety concerns left no space in the budget for further interventions. Nevertheless, it remains a goal for 2022: Specchio will be there.
So, finally, Ceva has its gangway again: a link for the two sides of the town that represents a symbolic new beginning, a fresh breath, and a renovated path for the population and the community.
