Report Flooding Devastate Communities in Nigeria

By Esther Lijoka-Adaba | Project Leader

In the wake of relentless rainfall and overflowing rivers, communities across Southern Nigeria have been devastated by catastrophic flooding. Homes have been submerged, farmlands destroyed, and thousands displaced. Families now struggle for basic necessities—clean water, food, and shelter.

Through your generous support, our team responded swiftly, delivering emergency relief to affected families. We distributed food packs, hygiene kits, and mosquito nets to over 5,000 people in the hardest-hit areas. Our mobile health teams treated waterborne diseases and provided maternal care for pregnant women. In partnership with local authorities, we set up temporary shelters and safe spaces for children who lost their homes.

One of the most heartwarming stories is that of Amina, a widowed mother of four whose house was washed away. She had lost all hope until our team provided food, clothing, and a safe place for her children to sleep. With your continued support, we can help more families like Amina’s rebuild their lives.

But the need is still overwhelming. Many remain stranded in makeshift camps, vulnerable to disease outbreaks and malnutrition. Rebuilding efforts require urgent funding to provide clean water sources, reconstruct homes, and restore livelihoods.

Your donations have made a difference, but we cannot stop now. By giving again today, you ensure that displaced families have a chance to recover and rebuild. Together, we can turn despair into hope. Thank you for standing with us in this time of crisis.
