Flood havoc started first in Cuddalore district and then in Villupuram district. Resource poor rural population are facing the fury of floods due to intermittent rains from November 10, 2015. All is lost for the flood affected people. Houses washed away. Home things gone in full. They were left only with what they wore. VOICE Trust will provide utility goods to regain life of the flood affected people. Then, rebuilding houses will be started with help from GlobalGiving donors.
Resource poor rural population like agricultural labourers, fishing people and daily wage earning families have lost their homes and all their belongings in the floods. VOICE Trust joined PMSSS and SAMSSS to work for providing emergency aid like supply of food and providing of clothes. The flood affected people now need to replenish their homes with daily usage goods and rebuild their houses for retuning to normalcy and for regaining upward movement in their life.
VOICE Trust will join PMSSS and SAMSSS to provide emergency relief supplies for enabling the flood affected people to restart their life in their small families and to extend help for rebuilding their houses partially or totally washed away. With help from good hearts through Global Giving, the resource poor rural population will be enabled to strengthen nutrition with good food, to improve health with sanitary napkins,first aid medicines and new beddings, to revive hope by building houses.
These resource poor rural population are now down both physically and psychologically due to flood devastation. Providing relief will restart their life with access to daily utility goods. Rebuilding houses will open up more confidence that their life can be regained and made to progress further. Such confidence building activities alone can revive the drooping spirits now down due to floods. They need this first assistance to launch to betterments in life. They will be models for regaining.
