Severe floods across Sri Lanka have displaced thousands of families, leaving children without food, clean water, clothing, or shelter. HELPING CHILDREN INC is launching an emergency response to provide life-saving relief-food packs, hygiene kits, clean drinking water, medical support, and temporary shelter materials-to protect vulnerable children and families affected by the disaster.
Flooding in Sri Lanka has devastated entire communities. Heavy rains have destroyed homes, submerged villages, and cut off access to essential services. Children are among the most affected: Families have lost homes, clothing, and basic possessions. Clean drinking water is contaminated, raising risks of dengue, diarrhea, and waterborne diseases. Many children have no food, dry clothing, or safe places to sleep. Schools are damaged or being used as temporary shelters.
HELPING CHILDREN INC will deliver rapid emergency assistance to affected families. Our response includes: 1. Emergency Food Packs Rice, dhal, tinned fish, baby food, biscuits, and essential dry rations. 2. Clean Water & Hygiene Kits Bottled water, purification tablets, soap, sanitary items, towels, and disinfectant. 3. Clothing & Essentials for Children Dry clothing, blankets, mosquito nets, shoes, and school materials where needed. 4. Temporary Shelter Support
