Thanks to the generous donations we received through GlobalGiving and other partners, we are currently running two key projects focused on emotional recovery and resilience: Caminhos Profissionais MVP and Nonviolent Communication (CNV).
Caminhos Profissionais MVP has been underway for nearly five months, and the transformation we’re witnessing in participants is truly remarkable. Children who previously suffered from anxiety and panic attacks are gradually overcoming their fears — including a deeply rooted fear of rain. Our talking circles have become more dynamic, with full and confident participation from everyone. We’ve also seen significant physical, motor, and coordination improvements in the children, which are essential for their overall development.
This initiative is unprecedented for our organization — not only because of the deep emotional and developmental progress, but because, for the first time in our history, a project is continuing beyond a three-month period thanks to sustained funding. With the support from GlobalGiving and others, we’re now planning to extend this program into the second half of the year.
In addition, we recently launched our Nonviolent Communication (CNV) project in partnership with a local radio station in Vera Cruz, which also suffered significant damage and losses during the 2024 floods. Although still in the early stages, this project is already yielding important results. Participants are showing greater emotional awareness and interpersonal skills, which is especially meaningful in a region still deeply affected by the trauma of the flood.
We want to highlight how vital it is to direct donations not only toward basic needs, but also toward the socio-emotional recovery of those affected by disasters. While often overlooked, emotional well-being makes a profound difference in rebuilding lives with dignity and resilience.
Thank you for believing in our work. You are helping transform trauma into strength!
