DISASTER & RISK MANAGEMENT: In our day to day life we meet small accidents such as we stumble with a stone or a metallic bar when we walk stone we may hurt with a minor injury. When women do their cooking work at the kitchen they may hurt with minor fire injury or they may hurt when they cut the vegetables with knife or any cutting instrument. Usually we call it as hindrance. There is no great risk. We can easily recovery ourselves from these minor accidents.
DISASTER: Disaster can be classified into two types. They are of
1) Natural Disaster
2) Artificial Disaster
1) NATURAL DISASTER: Disasters such as monstrous sea waves, cyclone, Flood, Tremour, Volcano burst, Snow cyclone, Mount soil flow, snow glaciers fall down etc are Natural Disasters.
2) ARITIFICIAL DISASTER: Religious rigs, communal riots, Accidents being occurred among crowd during the festival times such as incidents are called as Artificial Disaster. During the time of riots violent people burn houses with Fire. These are called as Artificial Disasters
Natural disaster is unavoidable one. When it is necessary for us to face the same we must do some arrangements in ahead of time, so that we can avoid the material damages and loss of lives. During the of heavy rain fall we would know earlier there would be some huge flood as a prior arrangement we can know the high locations and we must lead the people to those areas. Or we must accommodate them at the protected. Places such as community welfare centre, schools, colleges etc. Also when we move to the protected areas we must be alert to collect immediately the important articles in the house, Family card, Aadhar Card, Pan Card, Documents of the properties, certificates, Patta, Bank Pass book, Insurance Policies etc. We must give first Priority to the conceived women, Age people, Children, alternative skilled people etc. and help them to move to the protected local places. All of us must work together along with the guidance and co – operation of Fire service Dept. staff, Doctors Team, Disaster Management Groups etc. And also we must provide our support to the Ambulance, Police Dept, and First Aid Groups etc. If we do so, we can reduce the loss of lives and damages of our house hold and important articles. That is why we can cut short the damages and loss of lives to a maximum extent.
MOCK DRILL TRAINING: During the time of Major accidents, great riots, fire accidents, demolitions, flood disasters protection of lives is very important, It is more important to trace the Children missed, Children entangled in high or low places, aged people, patients, conceived women than that one, because people would be suffering too much to protect their possessions and themselves. Therefore they would be in much trouble being entangled in the midst of demolitions. That is why as an emergency action we must search and find them. We must plan properly for that and without any agitation. We must serve with patience. Those who are entangled within the demolitions would be in unconscious condition. It is an unavoidable circumstance. Therefore it it would be hard to find out them. Hence we must use the accurate torch light for this purpose. In the corners and between the small gaps we must send the light and sharply look at there to find out the affected victims at our earliest convenience. We must raise our voice check if there is anybody by making a call there. Also we must check that we hear any murmuring or any mild voice requesting help for them. As soon as we hear any murmuring voice, we must inform them that we wish to protect them soon we must make them such confidence to be understood by them clearly. Then we must inform this news to somebody else asked that person to come with us in helping to redeem the victim from the demolitions. Then we must remove the demolitions carefully without making any further injury to the victim being entangled within the demolition. Then we must carefully bring out the disaster affected person who was found within the demolitions and we must continue the recovery services. Recovery service is not only to protect a person alive but also to protect and recover him / her in a safe manner. As the affected person’s attitude is very much affected we must do our Recovery service so as to create courage to them. In order to help them we must take some persons along with as or at least another person to co –operate with as in this regard. Because it would create courage to our mind and that person would be a company for us. According to the situation we must bring a person who got injured and laid at the upstairs without causing any problem to him. Steps were blocked and there is no way to bring him down through the steps. That is why it was planned to bring that person to the ground floor with the help of a wooden ladder or an iron ladder. Then that ladder was kept in the leaning position near the building. After we get the affected person from the upstairs. Before we carry him we must check carefully where he got injured when we carry him from the upstairs we need to move him carefully. If we carry him in a wrong manner he would be affected with more pain. We must not keep our hand up on his bone fractured portion. If we do so it would cause more pain to him and would create much problem so we must work carefully at the same time we must meet the need of the victim soon. We must hold his body portion which was not injured and left up him up to our shoulders. If we walk in this manner one who carries him will not feel much weight of him. After lifting up the affected person we shall hold him with one of our hands and with another hand we must hold the ladder carefully. Then we shall get down through carefully. Then he can be handed over to the medical Team.
