REPORT TITLE: DISASTER AND RISK MANAGEMENT TRAINING AT THOOTHUKUDI SCHOOL
PROJECT TITLE: FLOOD DISASTER RESPOSE AT TAMILNADU, S.INDIA
Venue: Corporation Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Samuel Puram, Thoothukudi
President: Miss. Anna Sundari Head Mistress, Samuel Puram Govt. School
Presence: Mrs. Numina, Sr. Science Teacher, Mrs. V. Indhra, Maths Teacher
Disaster and Risk Management Awareness Training Programme was held with the presidence of Mrs. Anna Sundari, Headmistress at the Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Samuel Puram, Thoothukudi Corporation in the presence of Mrs. Numina, Science Teacher and Mrs. V. Indhra, Maths Teacher, Mr. A.Dhamotharan Project Manager, Flood Disaster Response Global Giving aided project through, Chevalier Roche Society participated in this programme and offered the Training on “SCHOOL LEVEL DISASTER AND RISK MANAGEMENT.” During the time of this Training following information’s were offered to the Boys and Girls Students who participated in this programme.
DISASTER MANAGEMENT TRAINING:
FIRST AID TRAINING:
1) During the occurrence of Disasters what types of First Aid might be provided to the disaster affected victims? And what is the purpose of the FIRST AID. It was also explained in detail.
2) Regarding the method of Artificial Respiration and the avoidance of Breathe Stop explanation was given and the demonstration was performed before the students participated in the Training Programme.
3) Explanation was given to avoid the lives loss by shock during the Disaster times loss by shock during the Disaster and described How can’t be avoided.
4) First Aid Principles and First Aid General Rules were explained in detail.
5) Importance of controlling the hemorrhage by making bandage was explained with practical demonstration.
6) According to the injuries found in every organ of the body and the fractures. What type of bandage shall be made? It was also explained with the practical demonstration.
7) Articles available in the First Aid Box in detail to the same were described in detail to the students.
8) It was also explained in what manner the school level First Aid Groups should be formed and how it should work accordingly.
TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR SEARCH & RECOVERY:
Finally Mrs. JeyaPriya, History Teacher delivered the vote of thanks and the programme was accomplishment in a successful manner.
