REPORT TITLE: REBUILDING COMMUNITY FROM FLOOD DISASTER

DISASTER RISK REDUCTION (DRR) TRAINING AT EZHIL NAGAR & SAIDAPET
RECOVERY & MOCK TRILL TRAINING PROGRAMME
To the vulnerable community of this flood affected zone, who were recovered from the Disaster and Flood Continuous Training Programmes were provided. In order to face and with stand the ensuing disasters with courage and self confidence this training was provided to the victims to be recovered from their problems. In order to uplift the quality of this training further, we combined the women who were provided continuous Training programmes and the boys, girls students who are trained newly and it was emphasized to protect all affected people including their relatives, parents, family members friends and relatives with out any partiality or hatred or aversion. Disaster affected persons shall not be affected further and they can be recovered with the help of Bed sheet, Robes, sticks like whatever they have with them and the available materials they have. It was realized clearly by them through this Training Programme. Also this was known by ever body in that area. When children play together or climb upon the tree they fall down and being hurt and injured. Therefore First Aid Training was provided to children to help other children who get injured and carry them to the nearby hospital for further treatment.
DRINKING WATER CONSERVATION:
As the quality of water charges frequently and the velocity of wind has increased much now a days after the heavy rain fall and flood disaster. Water is also polluted because of the speedy wind after the rain flood occurrence. And numerous number of dust particles deposit on the outer layer of drinking water everywhere Water Test was demonstrated by using the Field Water Test Kit (FWTK) which was formed by Govt. of Tamilnadu, Tamil Nadu Water and Drainage Board (TWAD Board). By this manner impurities in the water were found out. That is why it was advised to operators to mix chlorine. Mixture in proper ratio with water. Through this way infections being caused by water pollution is avoided Hygienic condition is formed.
Livelihood training:
In order to development the economic status of women, this Training programme many illiterate women participate and are being trained well. Hence many women are prepared to begin the new entrepreneurship on their own. Being not dependent only the income of the gents in their family, women themselves may perform their entrepreneurship in their homes themselves and can develop their economic status.
