REPORT TITLE : DISASTER MANAGEMENT INITIATIE IN TAMILNADU
PROJECT TITLE ; FLOOD DISASTER RESPONSE AT TAMILNADU
VENUE : PANCHAYAT UNION KUMMATH MIDDLE SCHOOL, PARANGIPETTAI,CUDDALORE DISTRICT
In the presence of Graduate Teacher Mrs.R.Rajamalar and Middle grade Teacher Mrs.P.Vijayalaksmi Mrs.K.Parameshwari presided over this Training Programme Mr.A.Dhamotharan, Project Manager Chevaliar Roche Society Participated in this Programme and offered the Training of boy & girl students on Disaster management, Search & Recovery and First Aid
DISASTER MANAGEMENT TRAINING:
It was clearly dealt bout the types of disasters being available at school level. It was researched and those must be avoided by boy &girl students. It was also emphasized to make the school level Disaster management project in book from what are the low powered stages available at school and surrounding school must be discovered. It was emphasized firmly. Boy & girl students were asked to get away from the school soon and to know the evacuation routes to reach the places of protection. Diagrams and wall posters regarding Disaster Management must be kept in the public places so that everybody would view the same and the explanation must be given every day. In that manner teachers were asked to do so. During the times of emergency contact facility from one class to another class shall be made. Boy and Girl students were warned not to go away during the time of rain and flood and not to get down or to play into the stagnant it would be danger for spreading of in factions. During the of rain flood it was suggested to be careful about electric posts, partly disconnected or cut wires, poisonous insects, snakes night cause risk or danger for us during that occasion how shall we be careful. It was explained clearly.
SEARCH & RESTORATION TRAINING:
It was described how to restore the victims those who entangled in fire accidents. It was also explained in what manner we could product the people being dashed and drowned in flood water. Explanation was given about restoring the victims who met the vehicle accidents and taking them to the hospital. Description about restoring the persons who met the Boy & Girl students. It was emphasized about carrying the victims who met the disasters, injured according to the situation, place the materials we have victims can be carried to the Emergency Help centers or Hospitals. Explanation was given on restoring the victims who entangled in demoshed buildings during the time of cyclone, rain, tremor etc.
FIRST AID TRAINING:
Demonstration Programme of Artificial Respiration for the persons being affected persons was conducted. It was demonstrated how to control the hemorrhage by making bandage in what manner. It was explained what type of First Aid could be done for the bone fractured victims. What type of First Aid may be provided for the persons who met the Fire Accidents finally Mrs.KulJoy delivered the vote of thanks.
SCHOOL LEVEL DISASTER & RISK REDUCTION MANAGEMENT TRAINING
VENUE: PANCHAYAT UNION MIDDLE SCHOOL, ARIYAKOSTI – CUDDALORE DISTRICT
Formation of school level Disaster Management Groups and Activities of Groups were explained. Types of Disaster their effects and defects would be in what from were explained to Boy& Girl students. What is hindrance? What is disaster? What is meant by Disaster Redaction? Such particulars were explained to students in detail. What is the power less condition? What are the causes for powerless condition? What are the reasons for the Powerless condition? Regarding this explanation was given for students in detail. What is the low powered stage in school level? Low powered Boy& Girl students are available at school. How shall they be gives importance? Regarding this explanation was given. Explanation about three stages regarding Disaster was given A) Position before the Disaster B) Position during the Disaster C) Position after disaster Development the skill of boy & girl students before the occurrence of disaster and after the occurrence of disaster. Explanation was given about how teachers could be helpful to develop the skill of students. It was explained how should be the involvement of Boy and Girl students during the periods of disaster in school level and community level. By performing fore – warning actions during times of disaster, how to from the community having no less of lives – such explanation was given to the Boy & Girl students.
MOCK – DRILL TRAINING:
Soon after receiving the information about the disaster how should we give the fire – warning to the community in the village and guide them to the protected places and arrange for them the accommodation. Such training was offered during the Mock – Drill. Mock – Drill was demonstrated practically how should the victims protect themselves by moving under the table, chair, cot etc.. Or running to the open ground during the occurrence of earthquakes and term ours. Mock Drill was performed practically to restore the people who were entangled in the flood disasters. Mock – drill was practically demonstrated how the students could restore the victims who were entangled in the fire accidents and how to carry them in a safe manner. How could we carry the bone fractured and those who could not walk. Such Mock – drill was performed practically. How could we restore the victims entangled with the building demolitims or victims who are in the unconscious condition, giving information to bring Ambulance, Providing artificial respiration and method of carrying the Disaster victims – such Mock Drill was performed practically.
FLOOD DISASTER MANAGEMENT PROJECT AWARENESS PROGRAMME & FIRST AID TRAINING
PLACE : GOVT.HR.SEC.SCHOOL, SORIS PURAM, AYYANADAIPPU PANCHAYAT , THOOTHUKUDI DISTRICT
Mr. A.AthiNarayanan, Panchayat president, Presided over this Training camp in the presence of Mrs.AJoy Bell, Headmistress, Govt. Hr.Secondary School. Mr.A.Dhamotharan, Project Managed, Head Trainer, Chevaliar Roche Society Provided the Training for school Boy & Girl students about Disaster Management.
DISASTER MANAGEMENT TRAINING:
It was emphasized what type of action precautions and actions must be taken. How shall Representatives of people and Disaster Management Groups make the people be prepared for withstanding the disasters? How shall be role of students in those occasions? These were explained clearly. It was emphasized how we shall develop our Awareness about the disaster. How shall this awareness be created among the parents of the students and village people? Such explanations were given and emphasized. It was emphasized heavily that students (both boys and girls) should not go and stand up near the old buildings, Electric posts, Transformers and trees during the times of rain, flood and cyclone. It was also emphasized that nobody should be away from their residence during the occurrence of thunder and lightning. It was emphasized what types of precaution activities be taken and how we could protect the lives of people during the occurrence of earth shakes & earthquakes. It was also explained during the occasion of follow students meet accidents, how they could be recovered and how could they contact the emergency numbers through telephones. It was also described to avoid the foot board Travel and travelling by two wheeler without helmet. Protective methods to be followed and necessary actions to be taken were also explained in detail during the fire accidents.
FIRST AID TRAINING:
It was explained what type of First Aid to be provided for those were affected by flood disaster. It was demonstrated and shown how the artificial respiration could be provided for those who were affected by disaster and lost their conscience. It was explained with practical demonstration during the occasion of somebody being affected with disaster and much hemorrhage from the injury how to control the hemorrhage. Practical demonstration was convened with the necessary explanation on the occasion of bone fracture during the times of disaster It was explained why type of First Aid to be provided to them and about the bandage methods and in what manner they might be carried to the nearby hospital or clinic. It was emphasized and demonstrated practically what type of First Aid to be provided to the persons who entangled in Fire Accidents. Finally Mrs. Jeyanthi, Senior grade teacher delivered the vote of thanks to everybody who participated in the First Aid Training Programme.
