As 2022 Comes to an End

New volunteers arrive on the 1st flight since C-19

As this year closes we need to acknowledge both our accomplishments and a return to a post-Covid normalcy. This "normalcy" is best illustrated by our calendar being filled with volunteers, both new and returning ones.

CLINICAL ACTIVITIES THROUGH 9 DECEMBER 2022

  • Clinics held:  334
  • Clinical Cases:  20,790
  • Health Education on board the clinics:  10,920
  • Dental Care:  1,021 (Dental care restarted in May 2022 after a multi-year hiatus)
  • Antenatal Care:  368
  •  Birth Spacing:  381 (Condoms, IUDs, injections, implants)
  • Eye Care:  446
  •  School Children Acuity Check: 681
  • Vaccinations: 2,296 (Measles, mumps, rubella and tetnus)
  • Covid-19 Vaccine: 484 (TLC is  the only non-governmental agency permitted to provide C-19 vaccines)
  • Mental Health Visits:  205
  •  Hospital Referrals:  45

 OUTREACH ACTIVITIES THROUGH 9 DECEMBER 2022

  • Home by home visits:  431
  •  Teen Health Education:  9 sessions
  • Mother’s Clubs: 2 (These have generally been replaced by the home to home visits since the start of the pandemic.)
  • School Health Screening Checks:  355 students
  •  CAR, Children at Risk: 125 presently at risk of malnutrition.
  • CAR, Follow-up: 202 (Recovered from Malnutrition)
  • Bio-Sand Filters (new): 8
  •  Bio-Sand Filters (follow-up):  509 (We assure that the filters are working properly and that they are being used.)
  • Gardening, (new):  26 (Both floating and land based)
  • Gardens, (follow-up): 27
