The Lake Clinic - Cambodia is very thankful to everyone who is helping us to stay afloat financially through these trying times. We had been fortunate that Cambodia had been spared from the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic; that is until the end of February 2021. COVID-19 is now here and in Thailand as well as other SouthEast Asian countries. Cambodia's health infrastructure is stressed. Schools are being used as quarantine centers. Wedding halls and convention centers have been turned into hospitals.
Travel between provinces has been problematic, but fortunately TLC's reputation with the Ministry of Health and our Provincial Health Department partners has allowe our staff to travel when and where necessary. So far our efforts to both teach and practice the necessary precautions against the spread of COVID-19 have been successful with no one from TLC or any of our communities being exposed.
In this First Quarter of 2021 The Lake Clinic provided 10,781 clinical services across the nine villages that we serve. We were also able to provide health screening and health education to 254 school children.
