On September 27, the Argentine Firefighters Foundation participated in the AVON Walk, an event that has been raising awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection for 20 consecutive years.
The walk brought together more than 15,000 people in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
For the third consecutive year, the Argentine Firefighters Foundation participated with a booth dedicated to the “Firefighters Against Cancer” campaign, to raise awareness about the risks firefighters face when responding to emergencies. In addition, volunteer firefighters from the Vuelta de Rocha Association were present, bringing a pink fire truck and a ribbon commemorating the occasion.
This event marks the start of “Pink October,” a month during which the Argentine Firefighters Foundation invites volunteer firefighter associations across the country to organize local initiatives to raise awareness about the disease and promote a culture of prevention.
