Firefighters against cancer aim to prevent the different types of cancer among over 58,000 firefighters in Argentina through various activities such as awareness-raising campaigns and informative talks.
For their activity, volunteer firefighters are exposed to risk factors that increase the likelihood of getting some type of cancer in comparison to the rest of the population.
The Fundacion Bomberos de Argentina will raise awareness about cancer and how to prevent it by providing information through the following channels: graphic and audio-visual content, webinars, etc. Some of the main contents of the campaign are the importance of the correct use of personal protective equipment and the dissemination of healthy habits and routines.
Between 30% and 50% of cancer cases can be avoided by reducing risk factors and adopting preventive strategies. That is why the campaign promotes early detection and appropriate care and treatment. Firefighters across the country will have access to cancer prevention information and tips to share with others in their communities.
