Fundación Bomberos de Argentina, as part of Pink October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, continues its efforts with the “Firefighters Against Cancer” campaign.
In October, the Foundation participated alongside dozens of other organizations and accompanied more than 12,500 people who gathered for the 19th edition of the Avon Walk: an event that brings together hundreds of people and organizations every year with the aim of raising awareness about breast cancer.
The FBA was present, promoting the campaign, which encourages healthy habits among SNBV members and raises awareness among volunteer firefighters about the risks inherent in their work.
In addition, a webinar on breast and prostate cancer prevention was held for firefighters throughout the country. Informational and prevention materials were also distributed, with many volunteer firefighter associations in Argentina joining in with special activities in their localities.
The campaign continues uninterrupted throughout the year, with the aim of expanding the network of alliances that strengthen and promote it.
