This year, as part the Firefighters Against Cancer campaign, Fundación Bomberos de Argentina offered free mammograms to female firefighters and women of their communities in several provinces of our country.
In Argentina, breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women; but 90% of cases can be cured if it's detected on time. Mammograms are the most effective method to detect the illness early, so that, it's important to have one once a year since 40 years old.
As part of our programme of Prevention, Health and Wellness, Firefighters against cancer aims to impulse healthy habits and rutines among National Volunteer Firefighters System and their communities.
