Our challenge is to manage the undernourishment problem, mostly a consequence of the extreme poverty and low education, focusing on the whole problem. Local community remains fully committed to this objective and we continue working with Conin Pilar, the Child Undernourishment Prevention and Human Promotion Center that is part of the “Red Conin” and follows its methodology to address the problem. Its aim is to take care of the attention, education and assistance of children between 0 to 5 years old with nutritional and social risk. We also work with pregnant women at risk of giving low birth weight children.
During this period, we could observe positive changes in the children´s physical and mental development and in nutritional habits. We have done several activities: family interviews in order to address their needs; workshops on integral stimulation including mothers, their babies and children between 2 to 5; health workshops; yoga workshops; gym lessons and more. This could help us give attention to more than 80 children and many families in nutrition, pediatrics, stimulation, psychology, etc.
Thanks for your contribution to this project, we could do a lot but we still need your help! Remember that nourishing time is now, if not we are going to be very late to help this children grow in normal health conditions. The achievements encouraged us to do more with Conin Pilar and the community, and there are many families that remain undernourished and need your help now!
