"The garbage is a real and big problem to all of us" said one of the member of 'Lomas del Tizate' during the weekly assembly. The time passes and is a hard path to improve the conditions of the community, but the families don't give up.
After a process to recognized the needs and projects that could be implemented, the community talked about the insecurity in the area, the lack of public services and the lack of organization among everyone, along with the problem of garbage.
We decided to focus and dedicate forces to one project at the time. So, for two days, among 140 volunteers and the families of Lomas del Tizate, worked together for a new start to the community. We built thirteen transitional houses for families who used to live with habitational emergency, but also we could work with the rest of the community on the cleaning of a public space; a place that was full of garbage, grass and it was insecure for the children to play.
We were afraid of the rain, but fortunately the sun was bright and the good mood was felt all over the place. The children were the first on picking up the plastic bags, the gloves and got ready to start cutting the grass and separating the garbage. They were an example to their fathers and the rest of the volunteers.
There's still a lot to do but we'll be working till the condition of the entire community improves.
We need you, we need and we will work to make true the dream of have safer roof and a better place to live to all the families in Lomas del Tizate. Support this project!
