On June 8th four students from Globe-Med at the University of Lawrence arrived and began planning the construction of the new pig co-op for members of Cyruzinge Village. Thirty-three members were chosen based on desire to participate and leadership qualities. These members were consulted on the planning of the cooperative details.
It was decided by the Globe-Med students, HDI staff, and the members of the cooperative that the funds would be used to design and construct a pig pen to be maintained and ran by the cooperative members cumulatively.
The pig pens are completed and 6 pigs, including one expecting mother, have happily settled into their new home.
Congratulations to the GlobeMed team for overseeing the completion of this project! Also, HDI would like to give a big thanks to each and every one of you for your contribution to this project!
