Help FIBUSPAM save women's lives in Ecuador through our cervical cancer screening program.
Did you know that cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of female mortality in the developing world? As is the case in many countries, in rural Ecuador most women give birth at home and never receive a pelvic exam in their entire lives. Because of the limited access to gynecology services and healthcare overall, many women needlessly suffer and even die, leaving their families and children behind.
FIBUSPAM is working hard to improve the health and well being of Ecuadorian women in need. In 2017 we started a program that used a low-cost, low-tech, but highly effective method to screen and treat women for cervical cancer. Through this program we traveled to rural villages and offered women this treatment. To date we have screened and treated over 1,500 women in need.
In 2018, we aim to double our impact and provide cervical cancer to at least 3,000 women. It costs us about $10 to screen each woman and we are hoping to raise $15,000 this month to help us get this program moving. This program will literately save the lives of hundred of women in need, while extending the lives of hundreds more.
