Dear donor,
Through its “Festivities in the Village” project, Çagdas Yasam Destekleme Dernegi (CYDD) continues to bring educational opportunities, creativity, and social engagement to children and families living in rural communities across Türkiye.
Since its launch and through the end of 2025, the project has reached 43 villages and 14,253 participants, thanks to the dedication of 1,312 volunteers who contributed 216 days of fieldwork. Each visit is carefully planned around the specific needs of the local community, combining enriching activities for children with informative sessions for adults.
In 2026, the project continued its journey, completing 10 field activities and directly reaching 1,633 students in villages and neighborhoods across different regions of Türkiye. About 200 university scholarship students volunteered in these activities.
Children enjoyed a wide range of interactive and educational activities, including creative drama, theater, science workshops, and oral and dental health education. These activities encouraged curiosity, creativity, self-expression, and teamwork, offering children valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom.
At the same time, educational and awareness sessions on women's health, legal rights, and agriculture provided adults with useful information relevant to their daily lives and communities.
The project also offers university student volunteers an opportunity to engage with rural communities, develop a sense of social responsibility, and experience the value of solidarity and volunteering firsthand.
More than a series of village visits, “Festivities in the Village” is about building connections, creating opportunities, and bringing communities together.
