Festivities in the Village is a community development program led by university youth in CYDD branches that brings education, health awareness, legal guidance, and social support to underserved rural communities across Turkiye. Through a combination of expert-led trainings, educational activities for children, parent workshops, and community improvement initiatives, the project helps residents of villages and empowers children to discover their talents, connects them with university students
Many rural communities in Turkiye have limited access to educational, cultural, health, and legal resources. Children and young people often lack opportunities to explore their talents, learn about future careers, and engage in enriching activities. Families, particularly women, may have limited access to information that supports their well-being and development. These challenges contribute to inequalities between rural and urban communities and can restrict opportunities for future success.
Project brings educational and social programs directly to underserved rural communities. Expert-led trainings in health, law, science, environment, culture, and arts are delivered alongside educational games, career guidance sessions, and parent workshops. University student volunteers serve as role models, encouraging children to pursue education and personal growth. The project also strengthens community cooperation by bringing together local residents, volunteers, municipalities, and CYDD.
The project will empower children, youth, and families with knowledge, skills, and confidence that can improve their quality of life. Increased awareness of education, health, legal rights, and civic participation will help create stronger communities. By promoting volunteerism, supporting disadvantaged students by scholarships (min 10 students from each project), and building lasting partnerships with local stakeholders, the project aims to create sustainable positive change.
