Since 2007, La Nuestra has been building and ensuring safe and quality training spaces for girls, teens, young and adult women, and LGBTIQ+ people. Our goal, both inside and outside the field, is to foster collective games and learning through play, respect, empathy, love, and companionship. La Nuestra provides training focused on football technique, tactics and physical preparation, as well as on each player’s needs, feelings, enjoyment and, above all, the right to play.
“Learning to play football, improve, evolve without losing our main goal, which is to be happy and free in the field.” – Programme participant
Using our regional knowledge, we have given talks and trainings where we shared our learnings, experiences and methodologies through different frameworks and institutions. We belong to several networks specializing in academic research, advocacy, and sports, where we exchange and build knowledge and experience. Through popular education and participatory methodologies as a framework, we propose meeting with others to generate a space for reflection and collective action, building new knowledge and meaning around feminist and low-income community football.
