Due to the health contingency, the economy in Mexico is going through a crisis, impacting the well-being of millions of families. In Jalisco, Mexico, preventive measures such as the stop of work activities were promoted, which directly affected the income of families because some industries fired or reduced staff work days. This project will help children and young people of the families that were affected by the work stoppage to face the situation satisfying a basic need: food.
As a result of the contingency, more than 60% of fathers and / or mothers have been fired or temporarily rested from their jobs, which has put their economic situation and their ability to meet the needs (food, housing, health) of their children at risk. In addition, each day that passes, the opportunities to find employment are reduced and the few or no reserves of money and / or food that they have as well.
This project seeks to cover one of the basic human needs: food. Children and youth at the hostel will be able to have their three daily meals: lunch, breakfast and dinner, which will help them keep their immune systems strong and in balance to prevent and reduce the risk of acquiring any type of disease. It will also help them feel physically and emotionally stable with more energy, with a healthy mind and a good mood.
Healthy eating is a source of energy for our body, giving us the necessary nutrients to be developing fully. Your donations will help provide nutritious food to children and youth from vulnerable families; and in the long term, they will reduce their risk of disease, decrease the rates of obesity and malnutrition, and you will help to restore one of their main rights, food, a key piece to living a healthy, balanced and happy childhood.
