Horizon Mission Africa's Feeding Hope program provides nutritious school meals to vulnerable children in underserved communities in Kenya. Starting at Christian Family School in Korogocho, Nairobi, we currently feed 50 children and aim to reach all 200 students. As funding grows, Feeding Hope will expand to additional underserved schools, helping children stay nourished, healthy, safe, and in school.
In underserved communities such as Korogocho in Nairobi, many children attend school while facing serious food insecurity. Without reliable meals, children may struggle to concentrate, miss classes, beg for food, or search through discarded waste for something to eat. Persistent hunger can contribute to absenteeism and school dropout, increasing children's vulnerability to street life, exploitation, and poverty. Hunger should never force a child to choose between food and education.
Feeding Hope currently provides nutritious meals to 50 vulnerable children at Christian Family School. We aim to expand to all approximately 200 students while improving safe food preparation, hygiene, kitchen capacity, and child wellbeing. As resources grow, HMA will responsibly expand Feeding Hope to additional underserved schools where hunger threatens children's education, building partnerships and recurring support to sustain the program.
Feeding Hope seeks to grow from a 50-child pilot into a sustainable school nutrition and child wellbeing program reaching vulnerable children across underserved communities in Kenya. Reliable school meals can encourage attendance, improve children's readiness to learn, and reduce the pressure to leave school in search of food. Our long-term goal is to build a network of supported schools where children can learn, grow, and pursue their futures free from classroom hunger.
