During this reporting period, the Sprout Care Foundation supported two families whose household head (bread weaner) had been admitted in hospital after testing positive to covid 19. The two families of 10 people had to be isolated in their own homes for a period of two weeks, accessing markets and shops to buy items for home use was quite difficult. As the families faced rejection and stigma from other community members, the sprout care foundation worked with the health worker to support the 10 children that had been isolated in their home with food, masks and hand washing soap. Above all the affected families were counselled to cope with the stigma. After the isolation period the organization facilitated the Covid 19 testing of the families.
The results for all were negative, we a grateful to the health worker and donors that worked with us to ensure these families get back to normal life without complications like malnutrition that would cause serious medical illness to the children that were especially below age 4.
We at sprout care foundation are so grateful to our local donors that have supported our interventions through donating to us and great thanks to those that support with gifts in kind. We commit to continue doing the work with your support.
