The weather has changed here in South Africa. Spring has sprung and we are ready to welcome summer after a long and cold winter.
1 September celebrates our official Spring Day here in South Africa. Most of the chools usually allow their pupils to celebrate this day by dressing up and bringing special treats to school.
Children in Soweto do not relate to this special celebration, as they often have to worry where the next meal will come from!
This year a few of the beneficiaries of our Soweto Community Care program, got to experience this beautiful and colourful celebration …
Here is what happened:
A very generous donor decided to use her small change to offer a big chance to hungry children in Soweto, Every time she bought groceries from the store, she rounded up – and decided to donate all of the small change. With the extra money donated, the children received treats and sweets in their usual food parcels. This was indeed a big chance for them to experience the kind-heartedness of our loyal donors.
Thank you to that special person for making such a difference in their lives…small change does really offer a big change!
If you would like to cause big changes, please consider rounding up and donating the small change to us.
