Dear Change maker,
Every seed of kindness you plant grows into a story of transformation. Your unwavering support is helping children in our communities dream bigger, learn with confidence, and build brighter futures.
We’d like to share the journey of one such child—a journey that reflects courage, hope, and the impact of your generosity. Their story is just one among many, but it carries the voice of countless children whose lives you are helping to change.
My name is Thyaga, and I am a student at Mampuriya National School. I feel very happy and thankful to share how the Education Without Hungerprogram by the SBTCF has changed not only my school life but also my life at home. Before this program, I didn’t know much about farming. I thought growing food was something only adults did. But when SBTCF brought this program to our school, everything changed. They gave us tools, seeds, and most importantly, the knowledge to grow food in a clean and healthy way without using harmful chemicals.
We learned how to prepare the soil, make natural fertilizers, and grow vegetables using organic methods. This was the first time I worked in a garden. I enjoyed planting vegetables with my friends and watching them grow. It felt amazing to see how our care and teamwork could turn small seeds into real food. This experience inspired me to do something special. I started a small organic garden at home. I used what I learned at school to teach my family how to grow vegetables naturally. Now, we have fresh, healthy food in our own backyard. My family was surprised and happy to see how well the plants are growing without any chemicals.
Starting a home garden made me feel proud. I realized that even as a student, I can make a difference. We are saving money, eating better, and taking care of our environment all because of what I learned from the program.
Thanks to the Education Without Hunger program, I not only gained knowledge but also the confidence to use it in real life. Our school garden became the first step, and now my home garden is helping my whole family. I feel more responsible, more hopeful, and more connected to nature.
I am truly grateful to the SBTCF Foundation for giving me this opportunity. What I have learned will stay with me forever. One day, I hope to help more people in my community start their own home gardens too.
