Hope Alive Campaign seeks to provide a daily cup of Porridge to school children in Kenya, from extremely poor backgrounds, who cannot afford three square meals a day. This project in Kenya, shall provide 1,530 orphans and vulnerable children, with a nutritious cup of Porridge, every school day, in the morning, from Monday to Friday, to help them fight short term hunger, concentrate in class, actively participate in classroom activities and lead to improved academic performance.
66 million primary school age children, attend classes, hungry, across the developing world, with 23 million in Africa alone and over 1 million in Kenya.
We provide a daily cup of Porridge to school children at Kasimba Primary School, Nyatwere Primary School, Balozi school, Fikisha Street Boys Centre and Beyond the Vision School. If we provide daily Porridge to children in these institutions, we shall reduce short term hunger, reduce cases of malnutrition, reduce cases of school dropouts and realize an improved academic performance of the children.
The project will provide a daily cup of Porridge to 1,530 school children in Kenya from disadvantaged backgrounds, allowing them to attend classes in at least a full stomach, excel academically and raise their chances of bringing out the community from the shackles of extreme poverty and hunger. Good grades in Kenya, translate into better and well paying jobs.
